Iceland Summerhouses is an independent directory of private holiday houses available to rent directly from their owners across Iceland. We built this site because we believe the best way to experience Iceland is from a private home in the landscape, not a hotel room.

Our mission

We connect travellers looking for authentic, private Icelandic summerhouses with the owners who have them. Our platform is enquiry-only: when you find a house you love, you contact the host directly. No commissions, no booking fees, no algorithms deciding what you see.

For hosts

We believe property owners should keep the full value of their rental income. We charge a flat annual listing fee, and that's it. Your guests pay you directly, on your terms. We handle the marketing, SEO, and enquiry notifications.

For guests

Every listing on Iceland Summerhouses is reviewed before publishing. We check that photos are accurate, properties are well-maintained, and hosts are responsive. When you send an enquiry, the host is notified immediately by email and SMS, so you get a fast response.
